Vancouver Irrigation Supply Ltd. is an irrigation product distributor serving Vancouver and the Lower Mainland for 22 years. Their focus is residential, small commercial, and low volume irrigation materials along with other related products. And they needed a website—but not just any website.
Vancouver Irrigation required two separate sites:
1. A site for homeowners and the general public. One that would act as an online brochure, providing a basic rundown of the services and products offered by the company, contact information as well as some useful advice on home irrigation.
2. A contractor's site. This part of the website would act as a catalogue for their wholesale customers.
Todd Silver Design created two different sites that while maintaining the company's overall branding created a visual "split" between the homeowner's and the contractor's sections.
The homeowner's section provides a brief history of the company, contact information including a map on how to get to the store as well as a lot of useful information to home irrigation. The site was built to strictly adhere to the standards set by the WC3 (each page validates as HTML 4.01 strict) and uses advanced CSS techniques for all presentational elements.
The contractor's section requires a password to enter, also utilizes adheres to WC3 standards (HTML 4.01 strict), as well as JavaScript to make what would normally be an unwieldy navigational scheme both elegant and easy to use. While similar in look to the homeowner's site, this section creates a definite break visually from the rest of the site.
